SYNOPSIS: 2011. The political crisis following 2010 elections led to a rising violence in Ivory Coast. Both candidates, Alassane Ouattara and Laurent Gbagbo, proclaimed themselves winners. A civil war broke out.

Severe violence was inflicted to civilians, and many cases of human rights abuses were reported on both sides. On March 29th, in Duékoué city, militia members from both sides massacred more than 800 people. Only in one day. The opening of the Salesian parish doors allowed 30.000 people to take refuge there; this decision saved their lives.

Gbagbo was captured on April 11th, thus ending the Second Civil War in Ivory Coast. However, the conflict was not over.
